this may sound extreme, but I would get some tranquilizers and a lot of meat - when they show up feed them meat with the meds in it, then keep feeding them until they fall asleep
put the dogs in your car and drive them to a pound a county or two away
I love animals, but sometimes, if they're...
here's the Hearts United for animals sanctuary - they do travelling caravans to get dogs to you and have many puppys especially from breeding mills that let them go or are shutting down

I bet you find a wonderful puppy here - don't hesitate to call them, they're wonderful...
I know NOTHING about goats but you wrote this
hey are covered in dried yellow poop which just seems to pour out of their backsides uncontrollably and constantly. Plus they are covered in dried colosutrum from my failed feedings yesterday.
this can't be normal or good - are they peeing...
here is a ready coop I saw that looked interesting for 4 hens
of course I"d get the plans and not pay that fortune, but it looked interesting

I would LOVE to see your chickens - truly. If weekends are good, Sundays are good for me, or I'll take a day off from work in Oct to have some uninterrupted time. I work in the city. The Journal News is our paper too. I hope the article is in the lower hudson issue. Who is the reporter -...
how exciting - I'm getting my education from a friend in Louisiana and she's sharing step by step since she got her chicks -
I have to get a presentation together for my local board and decide on a coup set up. We have lots of raccoons to be concerned about, so I want to be very thorough in...
Hi! I'm so glad to see so many New Yorkers and some hear me, at least not too far
I'm Gina and live in Mamaroneck, in Westchester County. And just beginning a battle to have a few hens. I'd love to take a ride and meet some 'chicken folks' and see how they're raising their chickens.
thank you all for your insightful comments
I don't have chickens yet. I live in Westchester and pay a fortune in taxes but I don't have the land farmers have. I just want four chickens. And I do have about 40 feet from any neighbors houses so that shouldn't be a problem.
I'm going to put...
this was on cnn.com today
I haven't begun my town battle in Mamaroneck, NY for four chickens yet - but I've been told that chickens are a violation of the 'health' code - no specific ordinance has been written against them - they're dirty according to the code enforcer
Now, here's a question I...
I feel so heartsick for you that this happened. Though I am very glad that you were not hurt, or your husband. This could have been a disaster when you went out at ten if the dogs were hanging around then.
I hope the legalities get settled and pray that you are calm inside and can start again.
I've learned a lot reading here - I live in NY in a suburb outside of NYC, and years ago someone decided we couldn't have 'livestock' but there are pigeon coups and rabbit hutches (for food), so I'm fighting them. I had no idea that where you are, which I consider farmland, you hve such a hard...
thank you - I'm going to try - I don't want roosters, just hens, so I'm prepared to do battle
it seems to me that there's a conspiracy to make us dependent on food processors
you would think three chickens wouldn't be a big deal so maybe I'll get them and band them and call them show hens -...
Has anyone fought with your local government to have chickens allowed. I live in a suburb in NY and am getting geared up to argue with my local village government to allow me three chickens for eggs. I'd love to have some experiences and ammo to throw at them. I am reading on...
