I can meat using my pressure canner and I know I saw a recipe for canning venison in the book I use.
I can either teach you or if you want to make a deal next hunting season, I could can some of your venison in exchange for some venison to keep. :) Let me know!
Just seeing this now. Thanks so much for giving Lincoln (formerly Link) a nice new home! He will be missed in our chicken yard, but I know he will have a great life at your place.
It was nice to see you too! We will definitely keep you updated.
Link, the stunningly handsome cockerel, is still looking for a home! He is about 12 weeks old now and is the Light Brahma breed. Please comment here or message me if interested. :)
Located in Cleveland, but willing to drive a bit if you will be providing a good home.
Omg that is too funny! 😂
And thank you. I appreciate that. I will continue to try to find a home for Link, but unfortunately once he begins to crow, he will have to leave. It's close quarters here in Cleveland! I will keep you updated. Thanks so much!
Unfortunately we haven't found anyone yet. :( He is listed on several sites. Idk why someone wouldn't want him. Every day we go out there we are in awe of how handsome he is becoming! I so wish I could keep him.
And that's so cool about Henrietta! My username actually comes from the name of my...
Hello, fellow Ohioans! I am just reposting this again this week in case anyone didn't see it.
I have a beautiful Light Brahma cockerel named Link who is up for rehoming. I am sad to give him up but we are in the city of Cleveland and cannot have roosters.
Please message me if you are...
Thank you, Knobby! I sincerely appreciate it. You've done so much for me already though so I will try to find someone else first. There's still time before he starts crowing.
It is with sadness that we need to rehome our beloved Light Brahma, Link (formerly Lily). He was in the sexed pullet bin, but it's looking like this is a cockerel! He's an absolutely beautiful bird, and so far has been very friendly and a good companion to the pullet he grew up with. Yet, he is...

The laws are written in such a strange way!
"Fowl. No person shall keep chickens or other poultry in any dwelling or within one hundred feet thereof." So is this just saying you can't have them inside a house or within 100 feet of one...
Oh, thanks anyway! And that's a great idea. It only takes about 40 mins to get down to Meyer. I know they have bin chicks on Mondays and Tuesdays. I can start calling there. Thank you!
Thanks but I think those are over an hour away for me. I'll keep calling around.
Also, if anyone in the area is willing to split a Cornish X mail order, I'm happy to.
Yeah, I called yesterday and they only had turkeys, guineas, and ducks unfortunately.
But maybe I should keep checking Rural King because it seems they have a little better stock than the TSCs. Even the Columbia Station TSC, which usually gets a ton of chicks in, is only getting infrequent...
Hi fellow Ohioans! Does anyone know of a store near Cleveland stocking Cornish X? I keep striking out at local Tractor Supply stores.
I know I could do an online order from somewhere like Mt. Healthy, but we live in the city and only have space for 6-7 CX. Most hatcheries have a minimum order...
Haha I love it! You could do a little competition of who has a better hatch rate: chicken or machine.
But the cool thing is, even if Ursula doesn't do as well as the incubator, you can still sneak the hatched incubator chicks under her at night and she'll raise them well. :)
