HELP!!!! Exposed membrane and blood vessels!HATCHING CHICK WITH MISSING BOTTOM SHELL!

Apply some permethrin dust or spray asap. You don't want mites in your house. Did you positively ID the bugs? Google mites and lice for images to help with that.

HELP!!!! Exposed membrane and blood vessels!HATCHING CHICK WITH MISSING BOTTOM SHELL!

That little umbilicus bulge will recede after a day or two. Even if it's a bit 'open'. As long as it's not oozing or bleeding it'll be fine.

HELP!!!! Exposed membrane and blood vessels!HATCHING CHICK WITH MISSING BOTTOM SHELL!

That looks ok....string fall off? She probably doesn't need anything to eat or drink for at least 12 hours. Just let her rest in the bator. This is your only hatchling? Have you looked into how to take care of a single hatchling?

HELP!!!! Exposed membrane and blood vessels!HATCHING CHICK WITH MISSING BOTTOM SHELL!

Poop's OK. Blood vessel maybe could be trimmed off IF it's not still flowing. Don't cut it too close to belly. Better get @WVduckchick to chime in on that tho.

Almost looks like she could get out of that. If you do remove more shell, take it from the top, side, and back of her head.

HELP!!!! Exposed membrane and blood vessels!HATCHING CHICK WITH MISSING BOTTOM SHELL!

Ditto Dat^^^ I usually just take a bit of shell off at a time, stopping if there's any bleeding, then put it back in bator to rest for 30 minutes or more. I have never pulled the chick all the way out, just opened shell enough so it can get out on it's own.

HELP!!!! Exposed membrane and blood vessels!HATCHING CHICK WITH MISSING BOTTOM SHELL!

It's hard to say when to start...but if blood vessels seem to be receding and she's moving and vocalizing more.....I might start chipping away at that shell. So you have good tools to do so? I've found a tweezers or very small hemostat work well to grab just tiny bit of shell and break it out...
