Don't worry too much. Almost all mine have been hatching late even 3 or 4 days over. They are mostly healthy chicks despite the delay. I raised the temperature in the main incubator and they are now starting to hatch mostly on time.
These are my hatches for the week. First was a chick and a guinea fowl keet, then 2 chicks and then 2 chicks yesterday. They were staggered but a bit too close because we had a heatwave and I wasn't storing the eggs more than a couple of days. These are the first hatches that have been on time...
I'm up to around 112 days running new incubators and only just getting them sorted the last couple of weeks, temperature too low, temperature too high, etc but they are finally starting to hatch on due day so I'm happy.
My valentines day hatch, 1 guinea fowl and 1 belgian duccle milliefluer. They are stuck in the hatcher for a while because the batch following them have already started to pip.
Cuteness overload :jumpy
Thank you for sharing. They look fantastic!
To me those stats sound great for shipped eggs, I did 2 lots before Christmas and got 4 chicks from 27 eggs and 2 chicks from 44 eggs, some of the fail definitely falls on mistakes I made but I think the post contributed a lot...
Very excited for you, I love seeing them zipping such a relief.
I only take out 1 egg at a time to candle but for lockdown the first batch I did in an auto with trays was a nightmare because I couldn't get the trays out so before the next batch I bought a second incubator for lockdown and...
First February hatches for me chick 1 last night, must be getting closer to getting settings right because this one actually hatched on due date. 2nd chick hatched this morning. 2 eggs remaining in that batch :fl for them. Got a video of the 2nd chick hatching but can't seem to post it :hmm
I just add another group of eggs every few days, to keep track of them I put the date they go in written on the side of the eggs. On lockdown day I just move them into the second incubator which I run without turning trays and humidity around 65% hardest part is having enough brooders to move...
Been hoping someone would start a February hatch-a-long, I'm in! Have had staggered hatches running for about 4 months and have 7 groups in so far to hatch in February.
I haven't had much success so far but learning a lot along the way.
