He's not getting enough copper in his diet. Copper deficiency can lead to hair loss and a whole bunch of other problems. This goat is an example of copper deficiency. He's suppose to be solid black.

Just had a surprise delivery! My little Ingrid wasn’t due for another two weeks (or so I had thought) and to my surprise I found her pushing out a little baby while doing my nightly chores! She had QUADRUPLETS! Poor thing is a first timer too. Sadly one of the quads was a still born, and the...

This is my 3rd goat birth alone. Though to be fair the first two I had caught them already with their first kid born and only got to see the second one born 😅 I’ve got all my supplies ready just in case I have to assist. I’ve assisted with pigs and cows but this’ll be my first with goats...

This little girly is finally in active labor! She’s a little early and totally surprised me today when I couldn’t find any ligaments on her this morning. She’s been having small contractions here and there and is looking real uncomfortable. Hopefully she won’t pull an all-nighter and have the...

We've got severe thunderstorm warnings broadcasting over here. There's some chance of tornadic activity as well. I've been busy staking everything that could possibly blow away to the ground all day. The storm's just now starting to roll in. Hopefully things wont get too crazy :fl

Not high at all, They're about 5 ft tall without any hot wire or framing. Same stuff i use for my poultry. 2x4 wielded wire. Guess i lucked out with my goats, they seem pretty content with their pen and don't try to get out.. :idunno

    Getting Goat kids

Goats can be stressing at times. If you feel that goats don't suit you anymore then there's no shame in giving them up. But i'd put up with their shenanigans just until their fence in complete and see how they behave afterwards. Then i'd decide whether or not they stay.

I don't grain my bucks at all. but when they get out all i have to do is take a grain scoop with some grain in it, shake it and they come running back to me. I don't give them grain after i put them away either. Maybe slowly cut back on Ozzy's grain consumption if you're worried about him being...

    Getting Goat kids

Once and a while as a treat is fine. I like to give it to my bucks before i put them in with the does for breeding but that's usually the only time i give it to them, And in little amounts too. My vet told me pure alfalfa hay is not a good diet for wethers and bucks, An alfalfa mix hay is...

    Getting Goat kids

I was told never to feed my wethers or bucks (unless in rut and breeding) Alfalfa pellets. Mostly because all that extra calcium will cause their urine to crystlize and that's how they get blocked and unable to pass urine. I give my does some pellets mixed with their sweet feed everyday though

Yep, she's about 2 years old and has never been bred. She wants to lift her leg up like a dog when one of the kids starts nursing but doesn't know what to do when they both nurse at the same time and just kind of stands there awkwardly 😅
