I understand your worries... I'd want to know too. But I think most breeds utilized to make commercial OEs are very heat tolerant and chances are, their final plumage could still be the blue you were hoping for. If not, you can always sell and pick up more chicks or pullets. I have a feeling...
They are dark! I'd still offer hope that maybe they're SGs but I'm still thinking OEs with that Crest. Trying to find pics of a CL and BCM cross but no luck so far :/
Def looks like a barred bird...NOT a JG :/ Isnt that life... you wanted JGs and got a smaller bird...Genesis1981 wanted smaller birds and might have JGs. Argh!
Can you look at bottom of feet? If they're really yellow, that would indicate JG....but if they're just sort of paleish, grayish, yellowish.... something else. I looked up 3 week old chicks from various breeds that a local store might carry and none are exact. Dominiques seem to have more...
Though yours have distinct white on bottom edges that form a sort of line that I don't see on OP's. OP's are a little more mottled. Perhaps they are just dark SGs?
