Two chicks sold as Sapphire Gem females. Barred Rock? Need some help IDing

I understand your worries... I'd want to know too. But I think most breeds utilized to make commercial OEs are very heat tolerant and chances are, their final plumage could still be the blue you were hoping for. If not, you can always sell and pick up more chicks or pullets. I have a feeling...

No...Olive Egger :) Though I'd expect feathered legs with a BCM x CL cross :/

They are dark! I'd still offer hope that maybe they're SGs but I'm still thinking OEs with that Crest. Trying to find pics of a CL and BCM cross but no luck so far :/

Any updated pics? Still thinking one is a crested Olive Egger out of a CLB. Not sure about other. They don't all inherit the crest.

The one on the right looks crested. Maybe you got OEs? Crested Legbar mom under black roo...maybe an Australorp...might make that...I think?

Can you look at bottom of feet? If they're really yellow, that would indicate JG....but if they're just sort of paleish, grayish, yellowish.... something else. I looked up 3 week old chicks from various breeds that a local store might carry and none are exact. Dominiques seem to have more...

Though yours have distinct white on bottom edges that form a sort of line that I don't see on OP's. OP's are a little more mottled. Perhaps they are just dark SGs?

I've never had JGs but I would have to agree that they look very similar! Isn't there a way to tell JGs by color of bottom of feet?

Two chicks sold as Sapphire Gem females. Barred Rock? Need some help IDing

I ordered SGs back in 2018 when they first became available. I received 2 extra birds. I assumed they were all female as I had ordered all females but being new to ordering chicks, I had yet to learn about packing peanuts. From early on, I wondered if 2 of my SGs were boys... they just seemed...
