Need ID help between 2 month Oliver Eggers and Marans I got from @chrissyr . Some of the Ro's(I'm thinking Ro) have those tussel cheeks and obviously have Americana in them. But only on those that look like Ro's. Do the pullets cheek tussels develop later than the Ro's on the Oliver Eggers?

Excuse me while I brag a bit but my youngest son just finished Med School and is moving to Mississippi to become an Emergency Resident Physician with Ole Miss University Hospital. He always enjoyed raising chickens growing up which I'm sure has led to his success.

I have a one year old Cream Legbar over EE cross that is toying with going broody. But every night she is roosting with the others. I'm leaving non-fertal eggs I've marked for her hoping she comes around. I have 14 eggs in a incubator for Easter which I think is more than she could handle...

I can not speak high enough of my California Gray hens. Their on the smaller size and lay 6 med size white eggs each week like clockwork. They are curious, friendly, and not rough with their pen mates.

I'm not ready to buy eggs or chicks yet but thinking I'd like to have a bantam Cochin pen specifically for the Broody hens and hatching eggs. Any input would be nice. Which colors make the best broodies or just general pen design ideas or anything else. Do some breeders breed for broodyness...
