He's awesome! He looks more like my rooster, but mine has black and gray on the chest. Less rust color.

forgot to say that I'm getting one pink egg and the rest greenish. (One looks pretty blue) I guess you guys can see that in my avitar. I'm not sure who lays the pink egg. I thought maybe it was my only EE with yellow legs, but I've seen my white and black Columbian girl in the nest with the...

Emjay, your flock looks so much like mine it's crazy! I see a twin for several of my girls in your group shot. Your rooster is totally different, though. Mine is the silver duckwing color. Love your Roo's coloring! Where did you get them?

Posting a few new pictures! Got a nice example of three Easter Egg colors! The green one was a double yolker! Also, I put a tree in my chicken pen for them to use as a perch! I only caught one on it in this picture, but this morning there were around 7 or 8! It's like a new jungle gym!

I'm interested in the Science experiment with lettuce also. My EEs just started laying around a month ago. Some are still not laying, but the ones who are are pretty steady even though it's cold and snowy. I'm leaving a light on in the coop 24/7 now - for the light and whatever heat it puts...

Quote: None of mine are laying yet, so I don't know this from experience, but I have read you can put food coloring on their vent. Avoid the hot colors (red, yellow, orange) so they don't pick. If you just did blue and green, and wait a couple of days between dye jobs you could get them all...

Here here!!! I wholeheartedly agree! I've never had so much fun with chickens as I am with finding my Easter Eggs!!! I just happened to ask about the pink eggs today, and came home to find one! The rest have been minty green - some with that khaki shade, and one that I think I could call...

does anyone know which color EE lays a "pink" egg? Not all of my EEs are laying yet, but everyone so far has had shades of mint green. That brings me to another question- does the color of the bird indicate the egg color at all (in EEs)? or is it just something in the genes? I just thought it...

The little pale gray one looks like my Lavender. She turned up missing this morning. 6 of my chickens didn't come in last night. Couldn't find them. 5 turned up this morning, without Lavender.

Quote: Dang! I want one of these! What would you call that feather pattern? Is there any place that you can get EE's with this color? Ditto! These colors are spectacular. I must have missed the original posting of these two.

n.smithurmond : Hi folks! Thought I'd share a picture of the cockerel I added back in April. Although it seems a lot safer for me to just call him an EE, he's actually an Ameraucana ( albeit imperfect) but I intend to use him over my EE gals. I know that the bleed through is undesirable if...

Ok, I have to post 2 more pictures, and then I will be done for a while. This is BB (Black Beard), although her beard is turning white now. This is a picture of most of the flock while they are chillin in the timber behind their coop. I think this is where the 3 gals were hiding last...

Kassaundra, your pics are great! It's so fun to look at other EEs. It's like seeing my chickens' cousins! Hee hee! I also love their names. I've named all of mine too, but some of them I interchange because they look too much alike. Mostly, I know which is which. And I agree that there is...

I have a white one like yours too. Her name is Snow. I'm posting a picture of one of my Auburn gals. I have six of them. This is Hazel. She is the one I expect eggs from soon. Her comb is the reddest. I wish I could get them all to stand still long enough for a solo portrait. I have 23...

My favorite is the white and black one in the back left. She doesn't like me very well, though, runs away when I want to get a picture. She's very puffy all over and had the cutest "eyeliner" when she was younger. She's in the back of this picture too. The tan and white one is my second...
