I buried him right after I found him...couldn't bear to look at him...but he had been the picture of health. The others in his pen didn't know what to do last night when it was time to go to bed, since he always lead them in...I had to coax them in the coop..

Yesterday I lost my best araucana roo...Don't know what happened...I had just noted to myself how beautiful and red his comb was, and how he was the picture of health..he probably weighed over five lbs, and he was six months old. Big, beautiful boy! I had such high hopes for him. I had seen him...
Actually, it wasn't pipped there, it was probably a chip from where it rolled around. It didn't pip until the next day, and hatched within an hour. It is one of the lavs.
Maybe you could send or post pics of your chicks..my babies' mammas..
And thanks for the info about breeding the blacks and lavs...I'll have to try that, cause I love the lavs!!
Beth G. :
Oh look at the little babies. I see a baby bonnie, a baby bella, and a baby midnight (meaning I know who...
I now have 2 babies...the one with a lot of blood is kinda weak, hoping it will be ok.
One of the araucana eggs is now pipped...

I now have 3 pips, and others are cheeping..the pips are from 3 of the 4 ameraucana eggs from my chickens. Some of the araucanas are cheeping.
I am like a kid at Christmas...and I have a stiff neck from standing over the bator watching..
