Opinions please, I have 4 BCM's that are two years old and got 2 eggs a month ago and not another egg since. Any idea why? They are in a breeding pen with a rooster and they are the only breed I have that is not laying.

Anyone else have back copper marans taking their own sweet time about starting to lay this spring? I am hatching lots of breeds already but the marans are what most people are wanting and mine won't lay.

I have 40 fluffy butts from my 44 that went to lockdown for the Easter Hatch A Long. I started with 75 but had several that were not fertile and never started of course. One more hatch to be done the first of May and then finished except for what I might get from Donna later. Have a wonderful...

Just put 44 eggs on lockdown for the Easter Hatch ALong. None of my BCM's or green eggs were fertile. Looking for lots of fuzzy butts Saturday! We will be out of town Friday night and Saturday so I will leave them alone to do their own thing. Easter Sunday should be chirpy at my house.

I am thinking of doing the chicken butchering also. I have done it but would like to see how they cut them up. I have done it all but cut them up, mom does that. I need to learn how to do that part.too.

We are staying in the Hampton Inn in Henderson, I think. Enjoy! I thought surely someone would be going from here. Such an opportunity. Problem is, I want to go to all the sessions, I can't just chose one out of 10 to 12 and then the demonstrations and venders. Busy, busy weekend. I think we are...

Got some hatching going on tonight, 3 already out. Hopefully the bator will be full in the morning. Just wondering, is anyone going to Mother Earth News Fair in Asheville, NC this weekend? DH, sister and myself have tickets and are going. Something I have wanted to do for 4 years and this year...

I have eggs due for hatching today! 28 went to lockdown. Next batch in the Easter hatch along. I love hatching but don't have room for lots more or can't afford them. Except for some eggs I hope to get from Donna, this may be my last hatch for a few months.

NO, I don't think rehab comes until 200 chickens. When my DH and mother both got to complaining I went from over 200 to about 75.

I have buckeye eggs for sale. Good meat and egg layers so great dual purpose. They love free range and not pleased with me since I have them in breeding pens. Could also hatch for someone in late April or May, trying to hatch myself some now.
