I was at the Kingsport TSC today. They got in RIR and Americauna pullets, cornish, Barred Rock st run, assorted pullets, and assorted red pullets( production red, RIR, and New Hampshire red). They also had some kind of really pretty ducks dark lokked like black/brown, but I'm not a duck person...
It's a little rhode island red chick that accidentally got placed under her in the dark....oops! They were on a mission haha, this was their first day out exploring their new world!
Pretty weather last two days has made me get the camera out! Just wanted to show off some of this years early babies..
there are 5 total but one is hiding, see the accidental RIR egg we set under her
Barred Rock and Buff Orpington babies
time for a nap!
Thanks!!! I am on here reading quite alot, just don't always have alot to say. This thread is so much better for us than the Virginia thread, we only live about an hour out of Kingsport/JC, and most of the Virginia thread is Northern VA.
These are a few of the hens they have been tending. They are not aggressive towards people, we have raised them from hatching, Actually we have three to choose from, two are larger than the other one, I will try and get a better picture for you if the rain lets up today.
We got to the Kingsport swap around 10:00. There was still quite a bit there, but I did see alot of empty cages. I had to work Saturday night, or we would have set up to sale. We did end up buying 5 buff orpington pullets about a month old. They filled out the brooder nicely with our barred rock...
He is very pretty, I'll have to check and see. The TSC show is in Kingsport on the 10th this month. I hope the weather is pretty so there will be alot there!
I would love to have this rooster. How much are you asking? Of course I have to double check with DH to make sure. We are going to TSC swap this month looking for some show girl eggs.
Our little silkie hen is hatching her first eggs! Two chicks so far, sitting on 5 eggs. She has done good and sat through 12 degree weather, snow, and all!!
Does anybody know of any chicken shows coming close to the tricities, or know were I could find this information? i would just lie to go to a couple to observe.
