Awesome everyone!! Congrats!! We ended up with 9 out of 12...2 eggs had yolk still and 1 stopped growing and had developed well but still had a big yolk sac attached...not bad all around despite huge humidity problems...will run my incubator empty and try to play with the humiditiy...I could not...

Not so lucky...humidity went way down and I had to help 3 chicks out...2 are doing great 1 is super weak...1 hatched well on it's own...3 more piping...Marv...we are early though so don't fret. The chicks I helped were very shrink wrapped and wouldn't have made it out....

2 of mine have pipped and are resting it bit...one may be soon as the pip is pretty good size!! LOVE IT!!!! Good luck!!

Staying busy is the key. Although I must admit that everytime I go to the basement I am mysteriously pulled into the room with the bator and find myself shining my flashlight to get a super view of eggs and watching for the slightest jiggle or wiggle to tell me that they are getting ready. My...

I hear ya!! Thankfully my days are packed until Friday...but I did stare at them this morning after I took out the turner and added water...they felt very heavy and full, so that's good. Clean your closets and junk drawers and stay busy!!! :fl

Great to hear that everyone's eggs are doing great!! Ours too...haven't candled all of them...but one is definitely a dud...clear throughout...the 3 or 4 other ones that I looked at look great!!! I was much more patient this time, not candling them every few days. I have the 3 chicks we hatched...

I've heard that they are able to make it even with crack...also read on here that people put super glue on or finger nail polish or something, can't quite recall?...do more searches and see what you read about that!!!And of course Good Luck!!!

Ah...don't listen to those teasers...they're just jealous!!! We have 12 mystery chicks...roo is a big silkie and potential mothers are barred rocks and auracanas....a friend of mine had her broody sit on the eggs from the same source and she had a GREAT hatch rate...can't wait to see what these...

Cool Julie!!! That's all there is to it...I have to stop myself from wanting to do it everyday!! LOL!! It's just so gratifying to see those little guys moving around in there, it's extra reassurance that things are going well.

Julie, It won't hurt anything...just do a search on this site for candling egg pics and you'll get tons of pictures...I don't do it too much...but it is a thrill to see a chick in there moving. You'll generally see a dark spot and red veining which indicates good growth. It helps me with the...

Candled a few of the bunch today...seeing great veining and movement...don't have the best flashlight...am going to try not be "candle-crazy" like last time....these eggs are local fertile eggs from a friend of a friend, so I'm thinking our hatch rate is going to be great!!! Good luck everyone...
