I had a Cayuga that every time she molted she got a little more white on her chest. Just a feather or two. Sadly a bobcat got her when she was about a year. So can't help you on an older bird. Sorry
I have one question....How do you guys keep the ducks from pooping in your bathtub????!!! My ducks get into clean water and SECONDS later, they poop! Your boys were in your tub for quite a while and never pooped! Is it a boy thing that they keep the water clean???

Once you start hearing them make noises other than peeping, it will take you a while to figure out what you are hearing. But eventually you'll be able to tell. Good luck! This is an exciting time, figuring out if you have eggs or not! LOL
Apart? As in Male or Female? At about 8 weeks you can tell by the voice if they are male/female. The female will make a definite "quack", loud, the boys will kinda hiss, quietly.
