Teila, a message for Cilla: "Now Cilla,. as a mum & grandma i really do understand where you're comin from. However, ive only known Teila for a week or so & im tellin you now, there is NO WAY you are goin to win this battle!!!
"Sunday Mornin Comin Down" ... with a "Storm Front Comin on the Radio" for Perth. Thanks Teila for your positive feedback & introduction free range tips. Thats the bit i was wondering about. Ruby & Harry are in their yard at present with Rube giving the newbies serious attitude through the wire...
Hi guys. Came home from Comps with 2! bantams. An Old English & a Wyandotte. They were together, 18 weeks. Got both because i thought it would be a safer introduction of younger, small hens. Have used wire to section off run of coop. Both ends have doors. Will giv the time to get used to one...
Well i've been slurped in nicely by you guys, most particularly Teila. :)Had plans to head over Middle Swan area tomorrow anyway & now decided to call in at Coups ... "just browsing" ... right! If they cant guarantee a bantam hen i can see me bringing home another 3/4 leghorn (love them too...
I totally understand Teila. I didn't want Harri on her own so brought Ruby home the day i took my roo back. If anything happened to one of them i would feel so sad till i could get another (more). That could be days at the least. Ha Ha! You have given me the "rational" excuse i need to get...
Yep, Teila Harri (ette) is a black pekin. Had another who turned out to be a roo so had to give him back (he was awesome). Comps couldnt guarantee a pekin chicks sex so i got Ruby (Tuesday). She is 3/4 a leghorn/new hampshire & the two of them are best buds. My little garden (& high density...
Wow Locknest, I didnt know they are allowed to shoot our birds in the metro. Have a workmate who has a vinyard in your area. I must ask him if he does that. It will be interesting to see how long before your others move up to the perch. Sounds like it would be a smart move to me! How many...
Came home to another Harri egg! Im thinkin it took her by surprise coz i found it in the run. Maybe she is goin to get into a routine like yours Teila. I mustn't forget Ruby, she aces it every dawn & lets everyone in neiboring townhouses know all about it. Tee-hee!!! ;) No one complains though.
Re bantam egg laying routines, Harri has been laying on alternate days. Her eggs seem to be a good size for a bantam although I tend to cook them in twos. I give the extra egg to family & my little grandsons always ask for "Harri eggs". I think its because she loves their cuddles, & they love...
Hey Mama. I remember that feeling, "Huston, we have liftoff!" Awesome! :D Im excited totay because Harri (bantam) has laid an egg 2 days in a row. We DO have clever girls :)
