Does anyone know of a missing rooster in Garden City? A rooster showed up in my yard. I already have a rooster and this guys is awfully pretty. He's also too old to have been a surprise cockerel. We can't/won't keep him, so I am hoping to figure out where he came from.
If anyone in the Caldwell area is interested, I called Dunlap to see if they are going to get any Polish this spring and they said they have tons of Polish babies in their store right now. I am in Garden City, but I may pick some up when I am in Caldwell on Monday.
We had so much fun at the feed mill today! They were really nice and have good prices and a clean operation. Here are some pictures. They are pictures of the tour, but also some feed prices and information. I am sure that they have more, but I was there with two small children, so I only got...
I found out about it by accident when I was looking for local feed. I will ask how often they do it though.

The Meridian Mill is having free tours tomorrow and I thought I would take the kids for fun. I am going to price out feed while we are there.
ETA: Are there any other mills locally that make feed?
So I am looking into local sources for chicken feed. Is anyone willing to share what they are feeding their layers? Where you're purchasing it and how much you're paying?
SO FREAKING CUTE!!!
My family is really pondering the idea of a small family farm. It's a ways down the road, but these kinds of pictures make me wish it were closer....
I went to the Garden City D & B, they were expecting some Polish from Dunlap. Dunlap had a bad hatch and they didn't get...
Does anyone in the Boise/Mountain Home area know of anyone that wants/needs/will take a rooster? I am trying to rehome one. He is a 14 week old easter egger. He is not aggressive at all, though a little shy. He is crowing and I cannot keep him. I am trying to find him a home.
I went to Zamzows to look and see what they had and their chicks did not seem well taken care of.
You can go pick up an order at Dunlap Hatchery in Caldwell and then you don't have to order so many. D and B gets their chicks from Dunlap and I have been very happy with them.
D and B only...
Yay! Others from Idaho!
We live in Mountain Home. I am so excited to be starting out.
Where do you guys get the best deals on pine shavings and diatomaceous earth?
