SO FREAKING CUTE!!!

My family is really pondering the idea of a small family farm. It's a ways down the road, but these kinds of pictures make me wish it were closer....

I went to the Garden City D & B, they were expecting some Polish from Dunlap. Dunlap had a bad hatch and they didn't get any polish, so we got three Easter Eggers instead.

So I am looking into local sources for chicken feed. Is anyone willing to share what they are feeding their layers? Where you're purchasing it and how much you're paying?

kemclaughlin, where is garden city, by boise?? I buy mine at one of the feed mills, I hear they sell it in Firth, too... in fact, who was it that said firth had food-grade DE, is that right??

Garden City is right in the middle of Boise. It's like a stripe right through.

I buy mine from Zamzows right now, but I was purchasing from the Meridian Feed Mill previously. I found the feed from the Meridian Feed Mill had a lot of dust in it and was getting worse, both the pellets and the crumbs and that is why I switched. Then I realized that the stuff Zamzows sells is higher in fiber as well as less dusty. And by dust, I mean dust from the feed. The Feed Mill is much cheaper, I may give them a try again due to costs, they were around $15 or $16 for a 50 pound bag, Zamzows is around $23.00 for a 40 lb bag, but you can catch them on sale at around $18 a bag on occasion.
