Cyn, I hoped that was what you were going to say! I thought it, but didn't want to get my hopes up. The chick is beautiful. All of them are, they are such a mixed lot of colors, o can't wait to see how they mature. But I prayed really hard for a Delaware!

@speckledhen first of all, I'm so sorry for all your bad luck lately. When it rains, it pours. I've included some pics of one of Ty and Cheyenne's chicks that I would love your input on. The chicks will be one month old on Thurs and are growing like weeds. This one in particular is almost snowy...

Oh Cyn, that's great news! No head spot on the chick, so maybe I will have a little black baby to replace my sweet Georgia.

Cheyenne is doing a great job, she is a wonderful mom. One of the chicks has got me stumped, it is jet black with the exception of a small light patch in the vent area and it has black legs. All the rest are yellow legged. I hope and pray it will look like Georgia!

Cynthia, Cheyenne is still happily sitting on her eggs. Hatch day should be Friday. I'm so nervous you'd think I was about to deliver. So far all the eggs I've candled have had little chicksters! Wish me luck.

Cynthia (speckledhen), My Cheyenne that I got from you last summer has decided to go broody on me, she is on day 4 sitting on 14 eggs. I tried to take a few away from her because I wasn't sure she could cover that many. She quickly told me otherwise, with her beak! May 14th will be day 21, I'll...

I love chicks of any kind! They are so adorable. Cyn, you wouldn't believe what a rascal Ty has turned into lately. He must have a bad case of spring fever. He is being downright mean to his girls, and poor Cheyenne is seeing the worst of it. He picks the worst fights with them, then tries to...

Hope Tom's leg gets well soon. Don't you love people who read what they want to into an ad! Any D'Anver chicks yet? You know I'm dying to come back and visit your farm! I wish we could have bought your land you had for sell, but I have to stay near my little mama. Take care!

Cynthia, I haven't been on here in ages. just saw about Rex. I wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of your loss. He was a beautiful boy. I wasn't sure, was he the father of Ty? Ty is such a sweet bird. Never aggressive and takes such good care of his girls. He is just the best rooster.

The picture doesn't do him justice. He is a stunning rooster, and has the sweetest disposition. But, he really takes care of his girls and protects them above all else.

So sorry about little Jenny. The D'anver boys are doing well, although they cried a bit for mommy last night. Betsy walked in and made herself at home, poor Cheyenne, on the other hand, has been relegated to lowest in the pecking order. Even Georgia picks on her. She spends a lot of time hiding...
