Not scary, it's scientific!! I remember batch 1 got pretty stinky when it was super hot. Maybe batch 2 moving at a little slower pace is better for the noses...
I sincerely hope not, especially since most guys don't seem to be all that shy about finding a tree, or shrub, or...
Gotta go eat some yogurt now, lol :D
My husband would be thrilled if I gave him free reign to pee into the composters, of course they are right next to the road, so it might not be appreciated by the neighbors...
I'm not a real chatty person, but do follow along. I was thinking about this thread when I was working on my own compost pile today :D I still need more green, even the pile that's made the most progress still looked like aged sawdust. I COULD pull a million weeds and add them, but will most...
Took your advice and added Epsom salts. Also have a bucket of weeds started brewing, I hid it behind the composter so DH doesn't think I've gone completely off the deep end. I figure I'm doing pretty well having two tubs on the counter labeled 'chickens' and 'compost'.

I do add coffee grounds, small amts daily, but haven't done a Starbucks pickup in a while. I feel guilty picking up the grounds without making a purchase (I know it's silly).
About the run, I have a 20 x 8 foot run, which we have to walk through to open the coop door. I thought I'd dig a...
I'm following closely :D. Actually, I am interested, working on my piles too. At my previous house, I had too much 'green' from lawn clippings. Here I am fighting the wood shavings. We now use a riding lawn mower without a bagger, so I don't have as much green as I used to. Wood shavings also...
