Thanks, they are cute little fuzzers!!!!! I did a dry hatch...humidity was at 65% for hatching. I left the eggs in the carton but I'm thinking maybe next time I won't do that. The eggs came from a local livestock auction so they weren't shipped. Hopefully we both get better hatch rates next time!
Well, the remainder of my eggs didn't hatch, they all were dead. Fully formed and everything but they were not in the proper position to pip internally :( Yeah, I dissected them all, so interesting to see them completely enclosed within the membrane! I'm wondering if it's due to me moving them...
Ok, so it's day 22 and out of 17 eggs 4 pipped but only 3 hatched. It's been about 13 hours since the three hatched and none of the other eggs have been pipped. Should I wait longer or dispose of the others? Also the chicks seem to be very sleepy. I figured by now they would be up and active...
I watched that a few days ago. I have my eggs in cartons but I'm thinking maybe I should take the twin egg out that way if one pips on the bottom I can see it..I'm just afraid to open the incubator LOL!
Yay for baby fuzzbutts!! Today is hatching day for me. 17 eggs in the incubator with one of them being a twin. No pips or rocking from what I can see but I did set them at night.
AHhhhhhhhhhh!!! All these cute little fuzzbutts! I can't wait for mine to get here Monday! Today I moved my incubator containing my 16 eggs. They are now on lockdown at my new house! Hopefully when I get there tomorrow none have hatched yet!
I'll be moving about an hour away, all paved roads.
I think I'm more worried about jostling them around when they are supposed to be getting into position to hatch. I think the temp and humidity will get lower but not so much as to disturb the eggs. If I bring them Thursday they will be alone...
Quick question! I am moving this weekend. Friday is lockdown for me....will they be ok on the ride over? I plan to leave them in their cartons inside the incubator like I have them now but will the bouncing around in the car harm them in any way? I can move them there Thursday if that would make...
Ok, so I candled my eggs lastnight(day 13 a day early LOL) and it looks like I only have 4 out of 20 that were iffy....BUT I did notice that one of the other eggs that has been going strong since day one seems to have twins inside? The egg is noticeably bigger than the other eggs and I can see...
Friday is lockdown for me!!! I have 20 eggs in the incubator that were viable but 6 are on my watch list so I'll candle them tomorrow at day 14 to see how they are doing. I can't wait for my first little fluffs to get here!!!
