So cool!!!!! I hope that babe gets outta there safe and sound....and quickly!!!!!!
It has a crooked beak, it peeped early this morning.
Oh no!!!! Poor silkie baby! How's the chick doing getting out of the eggs? It broke through the shell so that is a good sign...hopefully it will not interfere with eating and drinking. I had a quail that had scissor beak but wasn't severe and did just fine. Good luck...anything from egg #2 yet?It has a crooked beak, it peeped early this morning.
It hasn't done anything yet but I notice the membrane still has veins so its not ready yet, maybe tomorrow night. Egg #2 I candled and I can't explain it but it kind of looks like it tried to pip through a vein...I see the veins then in middle of a vein is a hole and some red leakage. Only time will tell though.
YEP...egg #1 needs some more time to absorb for sure. Hopefully egg #2 will be ok but yes..a wait and see situation now
egg #1 is very vocal though which is a good sign! I am thinking maybe another 24 hrs the veins will be gone. The membrane started to dry out so wrapped damp paper towel around the egg. Everything should be good to go,now!
