Hi Everyone,
Well, baby donkey finally got here, and his name is Valentine because he has one white spot in the shape of a heart.
I am getting 4 for 4 almost ever day from the chickens now, and we will start on the new coop soon. What can I say chicken math...
Have 4 for 4 eggs most days now!! Yay!
We are still waiting on baby Donkey to finish cooking...looks like any day now.
Hope to start on new coop for the big girls soon as foal is a few weeks old.
The spotted Donkey in my avatar missed the chickens so much when they didn't come out of the run...
My last girl finally laid an egg yesterday...10 months old! Yea! Of course it was all the way in the back of the run, under the coop.
Cold, rainy, sleety run. Is sleety a word; sleety is a word now.
Tomorrow is the annual Dogs on the Catwalk here in Greensboro...always fun, and raises money...
My chicken coop is in the middle of the pasture, and the donkeys are very good with chickens. When the chickens are out at feeding time you always see chickens in the donkey's feed bowls. The donkeys don't even share with each other.
The chickens use the stalls for dust baths on wet or...
Big Momma laid her fist egg; two more to go. They are nine months old has been a long wait.
Long wait or not chicken math as struck...been planning new coop snd how chickens it will hold.
Good morning all! Two days in a row in the 60s...Wahoo. This makes me think of spring, and new chickens. I would like to get a couple of Silkies, and a couple of Polish pullets in the spring. Maybe I should say a few of each.
I have relatives from Wilmington to Mt. Airy, so I can pick them...
Thank you!
Hope...Hope...Hope. Chickie see Chickie do.
She was very puzzled about what just fell out of her, and was moving it around her with beak when I noticed the second one.
No egg songs yet, but two eggs in two days.
Sorry about your illnesses! I fell down the steps last week, and wrecked my ankles. I am lucky, my son came by to feed and water chickens and donkeys, but not scoop poop or let the girls out. The chickens were most happy when I was able to walk to the coop again, and I have been able to...
I live in the center we have not gotten more than tenth of an inch of rain in over a month. My grass looks dead, and I am having to feed hay to Donks.
Glad I didn't plant a garden this year.
