My wife thought I had turned hers into a chicken hut.......When she wanted to know if that was her hearting pad, I told her " Nope, I got the chicks a much nicer one than yours".
I have both ends open. I have thought, in retrospect I should have scooted them closer together, maybe with a little 2-3 inch space between them so they could have escaped out the middle too..
All I know for sure, is I failed, chick rearing 101 again.
In the past few days I read on here about someone putting multiple MHP's in their brooder.
I have so busy I could not really reply when I read it. I recently did that. It did not work as planned.
I had 2 large groups of chicks 50-60 and knew they would not fit under one pad. I set up two...
I have no life.... I am either outside working, mostly with my chickens or drinking coffee or eating lunch in front of my Putor. I am on it like 22.46 hours a day..
I can keep up with every thread here except this one.......
I have finally been humbled by posting fanatics..I go out for and...
Ahh Ok..
I did not get that.. I would think the 4 week olds would snuggle enough to keep the 2 week olds safe, if you just had a roof so the heat did not radiate away.. hence my blankie idea. I am actually going to try that.
I was thinking the silver bubbly insulation thing with a light...
I have not seen anyone else tackle this, so here goes?
Without seeming to be rude or demeaning, Why would you want to use a MHP on 4 week old chicks? At that age I am weaning mine from heat altogether. If they were under a MHP it would be on 1 or off. Just give them a blankie to crawl under...
No wonder you did not come in first in "the contest".... You think ducks are cute...
Not that I would ever allow my prejudice against webbed feet creatures show...
NO no no... Perchie, you know I only am thinking about your well being.. Please go read my warning..Did I not write it large enough to emphasize my position on waterfowl?
Grats to all the new birdies and their people...
Now a word of warning to all:
STEP BACK FROM THE WATERFOWL!
run, do not walk as fast as you can to your nearest bar, drink until you cannot remember what a duck is! DO not leave said bar until all danger of duck ownership has passed...
I would be so afraid to ever smuggle anything even and egg...
They would see me sweating and be able to follow the trail of water following me. Besides on the way their, they would ask why I have the egg carton, and I would blurt out" So I can smuggle an egg back into the country"....
I...
Thanks..
I am still in negotiations with BYC, they do not seem to be garnering up the type of Aircraft I desire, and there is some sticking points over the first class seating...
I also am disappointed my "marital advice" article did not win. It would save countless marriages.... It has...
I would post the link, but I am laying low to avoid the wrath of Blooie.....
I saw aart's picture too. I like the cute little guy peeking around the corner.
Actually the younger the better, I think 2 weeks and under "No Problem".
I just kind of look at them and see if they are close enough in size. I also raise them next to each other so they see their future pen mates too.
