Sadly my incubator eggs didn’t hatch… they developed until about day 10, I’m trying to pinpoint the problem, maybe because it was their very first clutch of eggs? Although I do have a goose setting atm. She’s about 18 days in now, so I’m hoping for her to have some success. :fl

Very cute! I can’t guarantee it, but it looks to me like a boy and a girl. They are sex link geese, the boys are blonde/pale and the girls have the darker saddleback appearance. Sorry to hear about your geese you lost. At least you might very well have a pair now. :)

That is adorable! I’ve had a duck hatch a chick before, but I never thought of a silkie hatching a goose before, the size difference is crazy. :lau

Oh yeah, I love them too, but to be they are too valuable to eat them. I’ve put all I have towards hatching. Still duck eggs are good too and I have loads of them.

Good info, I haven’t followed that idea, so I’m hoping they hatch without issues.

What was your humidity like? It sounds like that stuff might have been a low humidity issue

Sounds like a pretty tuff hatching year…. I hope this year goes better! I’ve done ducks several years now without really any issues, but these geese are new to me. I’m really hoping for a good experience.

I feel the same way about eating goose eggs, but I did eat one when it was chipped in the nest. It was basically just like eating a big duck egg. What happened with your hatching last year?

4 more days till hopeful hatch day! Egg turner was taken out last night and the second water chamber was filled. I’m holding 75% humidity, so I hope all goes well.

I’ve cooked a couple of mine and they were huge, probably the equivalent to 4 duck eggs!

You think I should save up these eggs and place them in their boxes, maybe one of them would go broody. I’ve filled up my incubators, so it may be worth a try.
