Hello fellow South Africans.
Our next show is coming up. Come along and say hey to me and meet the rest of the show poultry club. I will not be showing this year but will be around to have a look
I got the same response from fellow members of Show Poultry South Africa.
Just be aware if you do decide to bring eggs in that they will be quarantined here for ages, it isnt really possible to get eggs into South Africa legally, although a lot of breeders do import them.
Good luck
Hey Lino, some breeders have a few project birds up here in where i am, but they are not very good quality. All of them got their starter birds from Holland or the UK.

No, we do see them, but the rooster keeps an eye on the sky at all times. Plus they have plenty of cover if they need it. We did have a genet come in and steal a few chicks one year, but i have put up some security for them at night so dont have that worry anymore.
I am also in the middle of town. Our bylaws in Randburg mean i can keep up to 10 chickens on my property. My neighbours thankfully havent complained.
I love having a rooster around, really puts my mind at ease when i am not at home.
Welcome to the thread!
Hi Chas, i havent seen many good buff pekins yet, and no frizzled ones so far. I will keep an eye on the shows for you though, and if some come up will get some details for you.
