If you are interested in Lights, I recommend Head In The Clouds Farm. They're on Facebook & Marilyn is a friend of mine. Tell her Amy sent you. They are exhibition/show stock.
Hello! Which color are you looking for? My Facebook page is Beach Bum Biddies. I breed Gold Laced, Blue Partridge, Buff Laced, & Lavender. Please pm me if you have any questions. Thanks!!
My Brahmas aren't that big but they're big, 12+ lbs....I breed Gold Laced, Buff Laced, Blue Partridge & Lavender (below). PM me if you have any questions.
@yeye5 Brahmas are awesome!! They are my favorite breed, bar none. If I ever stop breeding chickens, I will still keep Brahmas. They're big, beautiful, & so sweet. I've never had any aggressive Brahma. I have a few Gold Laced hens that're coming on 3 years old & they still lay great! I can...
Thanks Big Medicine!! I have tried to explain this same thing to the person til I'm blue in the face. I guess some people just don't want to learn. They say ignorance is bliss. I, for one, will not be calling my SPLASH Blue Partridge, a Red Pyle. :)
Is it considered wrong to call the splash variety of Blue Partridge Brahmas, Red Pyle? I always thought red Pyle was different. I call them Splash Blue Partridge. Please let me know if I'm wrong in thinking this. Thanks!
Thanks! I bought him as a Blue but he grew those cool hackle & saddle feathers, so i thought maybe he was a Blue Columbian. The hen I got with him is a solid Blue. I haven't had any red leakage in their young, just that silver color in the males, like the cock bird. I guess i will just call them...
If you want production style chickens, then I don't think Brahmas are your birds. They don't lay as much as others, like a Rhode Island Red or Barred Rock. They are slow to mature. My hens were almost a year old before they started laying. They eat tons, unless you can free range them during the...
Look like Sultan or Polish crossed with Brahma or maybe even Cochin. I think they are pretty cute. They would def be considered a new breed in my opinion though. Some like "pure breds", but hey, they all started somewhere right??
To me a "pyle" color is what looks like a buff but more of a yellow color to it, kind of lemon...like this...
If you colored the white parts black, I would assume you would get columbian. This color is the only one I consider "pyle". I call the ones you posted earlier something completely...
To answer your question, if the white was black in a "pyle"...I have no idea what color it would be called...a project color?? lol I would say Gold Laced but they really wouldn't be that color either I don't think....Splash I guess....
Sorry I never saw your reply. I would love to have the colors you mentioned as well. Do you have pics of your Lemon Pyles? I have a hen I could probably use for a Pyle project but I just don't have the room at the moment. :(
