No go. They had been spending a bit of time off the nest today. I candled it and it looks like a early quitter. The next eggs will be removed and put under one of the racers.

That's pretty amazing! I wonder what bonnie and Clyde must have thought having this little one hatch out and start moving around! Good job you found it soon enough.

I do have one roller. She is quite alot smaller and Ash coloured. She is also called Ash! The one on the top perch is one of her offspring from last year. His father is racer. Sadly Ash can't keep up when they are flying so she just does her own thing! Both of her youngsters have no problem...

Some of my females growl but mostly, only when on eggs. Just by looking at yours I'd say male. Have you felt between the pelvic bone? It's not all that easy if you don't have a known hen and a male to compare against but the female will have a larger gap between the pelvic bones the males will...

I have 8 on the archangels. They seem a little big on the hens but fit nice on the male. I think the tumblers will be about the same size.

I read this. If its true I can't understand why it will take so long to start trials. I have some, do you think it will be safe to put a few drops my neck! https://pharmafield.co.uk/pharma_news/study_shows_anti-parasitic_drug_ivermectin_kills_coronavirus/

How long can a pigeon remain fertile after they have mated even if they don't lay straight away?

I love the colours. It's probably the main thing that drew me to wanting them. Apparently the squabs are just a boring grey colour! Hopefully I'll soon find out!

Granted kiwi is quite big! But they are smaller than the racers too. I've never seen them before. Do they need to fly alot?

The arcs are in the new loft now. Much to kiwi's bemusement! Look how much smaller they are! Ruby insists on nesting on the floor!

Well that's it. The fantails have gone. I have kept Kiwi and Ruby. They are the wife's favourite! A guy from the next town over just came over and collected them. He already has some so hopefully they will settle in just fine. Tomorrow I will give the loft a really good clean and introduce the...

My company closed down on Friday. I'm classed as a furloughed worker. The initial shutdown is meant to be for two weeks but it will most probably be until the end of April. But...I got a call from my boss yesterday and I'm back at work today???!

    Pigeon Talk

I got a message from someone about the fantails. He lives about 20 miles from me. I want to sell 6 of them and keep 2. He said he would take all 6 and keep them together but since the message all travel across UK has been stopped apart from essential journeys. I know we believe collecting...
