oh no! i am so sorry!!!!
BUT look to the bright side, i twas a failure to thrive, if it had hatched it probably would have had other problems, or not have been formed all the way or something
and then you would have had to cull it later, this may have been a blessing in disguise very sorry...
is the other pekin pipped?
you could try candling the one in question to see if the yolk sack is absorbed, and if it is you could zip it, but leave it in the egg to see if it can push itself out
i think it looks ok, you can also use cocnut oil or vaseline on the membrane but it looks good for now
ducks take FOREVER to get from pip to zip, like 36 hours in some cases
Yes, i have read that late deaths can be caused by pullet eggs, i cant remember where i read it
i will try to remember
@BantyChooks do you remember i think it was WV, mini or Rav that posted it
maybe
it could just be resting,
if you want you could read the assisting article
or put in a safety hole
or let nature take its course
what day is it on? how many left?
Fun!!
GOOD LUCK!!
i think it will be ok, just take a look and make sure its vent is not sticky/glued shut, i had that happen to one of my chicks but was able to catch it
love the orange one in the middle!
there are many reasons that they may have died, were thye eggs both from the same hen, older eggs, etc, etc
but considering the hatch rate i wouldnt worry about it too much
Congrats on the others
LOL, super cute!
Good Luck!! Staggered hatches are very difficult, much easier to have on bator...
