My photo of the week is this diamond dove that fledged yesterday! You can see that it is a juvenile for it's feather patterns and it's grey skin around the eyes, adults have larger red skin around their eyes! That red color usually comes in at 6-8 months of age! Also this is my coturnix quail...

I have been watching them and that is actually what I put wire on some parts of the fence. Herry (the Sussex roo) has a crooked beak and I'm more worried about him pecking Darcy (the black roo) in the eye.

My two boys are sizing up, aka getting ready to fight but they don't really realize there is a fence in-between them. I keep them separate, they have tried to kill each other in the past!

Neither can the ladies 🤣 Tilly is constantly chasing away the other females and I normally get any of their sons their own mates within days!
