Sounds like they are not fertile. Sorry you didn't get any chicks from incubating, but CONGRATS on the chicks you got in the mail!

Congrats Cheryl! My hatch is done. I got 10 babies. The cracked Orp didn't make it. I don't know why, it appeared fine when I opened it. If it hadn't been knocked out of the carton, maybe it would have hatched. If it had hatched, I would have had 100% development and 100% hatch rate on...

Cheryl......good luck! I woke up to find 5 Orps now in my bator. (1 blue, 4 splash) One other Orp egg was pipped, but the little buggers somehow managed to knock it out of the egg carton. So now it's cracked and I don't know if it's okay or not. I'd open it to find out, but I have a silver...

I've got another one zipping. Lots of chirping going on. I'm concerned about 1 egg though, it pipped and there's a bit of blood around the membrane where it pipped. I haven't seen any further action from that egg, so I hope the little one is okay.

If the bleeding stopped, then leave it be. Probably just because the umbilical came off prematurely.

Cheryl.....leave it alone. Mine were pipped for over 12 hours before they started zipping. equine.....I wouldn't. It doesn't hurt anything to leave the shells in there until the hatch is done. I'mateacher.......how much blood? congrats chickenlady!

Equine.....Leave him. He'll encourage the others to hurry it up. Just got another pip, so that's 1 hatched, 1 zipping and 6 pips.
