Sell Me On A Duck Breed

I think it varies with ducks, but for the most part yes, they can see in the dark and will be awake during the nighttime hours. Most people (Including me) feed there ducks/chickens an All flock feed or Purina Flock Raiser, I would think you could mix brewers yeast with normal layer feed to give...

:gig The chicken is a pure B.B Red game bantam, Then a Pekin, Rouen, Baby Rouen, and two Call ducklings. I've never weighed the Pekin so she may be jumbo, she sure looks and acts like it.

I don't have video but, My bird's free-range together all day without any problems, have all different birds and sizes no one gets picked on. Occasionally, you will see a duck sneak up on a chicken and harass them but that's about it. I don't think you will have a problem especially if they have...

Sell Me On A Duck Breed

I prefer to pick my chicks up directly from a hatchery/breeder, I've had too many chicks die from shipping to buy online again. Very stressful for them anyways. Just look up breeders in Alabama and im sure you could find someone nearby.

Sell Me On A Duck Breed

All of my Pekins around age 2-3 develop serious leg problems due to there size and rapidly decline, They are a great breed to have just don't expect them to live as long as other breeds.

My Runner's were very nice and did not fit the Shy/Weary stereotype that has become associated with the breed.

Sell Me On A Duck Breed

My calls are free-ranged, So I do lose one every year to predators, but that's usually a given with most duck breeds. Call ducks wing can be clipped, but if left to free-range they will be very prone to predators. They are extremely good duck's to have around kids too.
