I'm a Chocolate fan, too, CC. It's PeepsCA's fault. I saw a picture of one of hers and I was hooked. I now have three Chocolate females and they're beautiful! Can't wait for them to start laying eggs for hatching in the spring. They're young still, but should give me my first eggs this year...

You know how slow I am to take pictures. I'll try to get some before Wednesday when we're starting all the Thanksgiving stuff. The white is a doll - beautiful little face, and the Pearl Gray is going to be huge I think. I'm 99% certain he's a male and I don't care if the white is a male or...

Here are my newest. They hatched on August 10th and are three Chocolate females and one Buff female. I'm not the best photographer, but these are four beautiful guineas. 14 weeks old now. Geez they grow fast.

Too funny. I clean the brooder EVERY MORNING, and by noon, it looks like a poop fest has been going on. No one told me how much/often they poop, and no one told me how bad it smells (but to be fair, most poop does . ) I love them all anyway. I think I'd have to photoshop a picture of a...

Happiness is being woken up at 3:49 a.m. to "peepeepeepeepEEPEEPEEP" and finding two brand spankin' new keets in the hatcher. Uber happiness is going back to sleep. I have four more pipping eggs in the hatcher, by the way. I now have enough keets to call it a small flock. YEA...

I agree with Peeps, send pictures even if they're blurry! We don't care.

All I know, Peeps, is that I'm buying stock in the Sterilite Bin company, thanks to your hatch-a-holicism! Have you started a chapter of HAHA (Hatch-A-Holics Anonymous - get it "HA-HA")? I love the pictures of the turkeys and quail. The turkeys are adorable! Great pictures, and congrats on...

Peeps, it would be easier just to count the ones you don't want......lol......the math would be easy - ZERO. And StevenW. - you've never heard that expression, "Sop 'em up with a biscuit"? It actually has nothing to do with eating anything (whew). It's the cousin to "I could just eat him up...

I wanna sop 'em up with a biscuit. (It's a Southern saying - the ultimate "cute" compliment.)

And just think Peeps, you can put like, 180,000 quail eggs in a 1588! You'll be hatching, deviling, pickling, brooding, building, sellling....and pulling your hair out if you have any left. You're an inspiration to wanna be hatchers everywhere. No joke - really. I already have three small...

StevenW, when you're new to hatching like I am, every hour drags on and on and on. Makes me nuts. I check the calendar every day, like that will somehow help, like I might miss it. Nope. Makes it worse! I have 15 good eggs in the 'bator. Hoping for a hatch of 10. The 28th is the hatch date...

Glad you're back! Whew. Those are some beautiful keets. Hope I get to the point where I'm hatching keets by the "bucket-load". What color will those that are more solid brown on their heads be when they're adults? How are your turkeys doing?

I know something about Cockatiels - I've owned two, and I've also owned parrots (African Gray and Cockatoo). Are you planning on hand-feeding them? If so, they'll be quite tame. If not, I'd recommend you start hand-taming/socializing them right off the bat. Put a towel on your lap or shoulder...

Gee, Daylily, I mean, can't you show just a little enthusiasm? LOL. I'm so happy for you. Knowing where the nest is not only means you get the freshest of fresh eggs to incubate, but you keep your hen safer by bringing her in at night before she goes broody, and if she does, you know where to...

Thanks, Daylily. My suggestion would be to let your husband write the checks for shipped eggs. That'll cure him. Just the shipping charges alone did it for me! Sorry about your arthritis. That's a bummer, but just take some good meds before you go out. I was stunned to find 15 eggs in the...

The guineas came home on their own just a few minutes ago. I collected 12 eggs. I have three from when I kept her penned, and one waiting in the egg carton, sooooooooo.....what a GOOD guinea! I think it's safe to expect some keets. Somewhere around 16. ****. These eggs are WAY better and TONS...

Well, Peeps, considering you told me exactly how to go about it, I have to give you the credit. But, yes, I'm shickledtitless. You have no idea. I want to get to that nest and raid it so bad I can't stand it. I'm going to take my husband with me to get the eggs. I'd go now, but he's having a...

I DID IT! I FOUND THE NEST! I let her out at 2:15. She went straight to her nest and has been there for over an hour. I sat there for about 45 minutes and I'm pretty sure she layed the egg, but wouldn't come off the nest, and I'm guessing it's because I was there. So I came back and am going...
