Is this s box large enough so that you aren't heating the whole thing?
I find, with quail, that if I have to help them out they die anyways.

I think if you have enough humidity in your bator to begin with the membrane won't dry out so quickly.
I am just not familiar with misting eggs, I've never done it so it makes me nervous.

I think you should split the eggs up in two batches.
Mist and cool half and don't do it to the other half and see what happens.
