A Styrofoam still air incubator from TSC, http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/little-giantreg%3B-still-air-incubator
Yes, I candled before lockdown...only one seemed to have not made it, but the others had large dark spots...so I'm still hopeful.
How long would you recommend waiting past...
Yes, yesterday started the due dates. I know to sit on my hands, though. :(
They have RIR, Orpingtons, and Colombian Rock for mothers, the fathers are questionable...they are from my own chickens and a neighbor. :/
Eggs due to hatch Mon-Wed...it's now Tuesday...
No pipping from others, but egg 1 must have passed away while I was asleep...it had tried, but those little eyes were lifeless.
I'm a first timer at incubating, and I watched them with such intensity and research the past weeks, I feel so...
I'm back! :frow
It's the 13th, and with eggs due to crack the 14-16th, I'm impatiently on lockdown. I put in extra wet wash cloths and the temp. has held steady, but I continue to fuss over them. Fairly certain my husband thinks I'm crazy...er. :smack
I squint in at them for pipping (none yet)...
I have my first incubation going on right now and after numbering them and the days they were collected, they are due Oct 14-16, but of course they could be late.
I have collected ten, five here and five from a (willing!) neighbor to increase the chances of a hatching... But all I can do is...
