I'm so sorry to hear this, listen you couldn't have done any more for her than you did.

I don't know if this would even work but http://terriermandotcom.blogspot.com/2006/05/superglue.html I very much understand what your saying, Vets have made it almost impossible for the common man or woman to have pets. If they ever need veterinary assistance.

And seems this would be a fairly easy job for someone who knows what they are doing. I hope you can locate a vet that is willing to give it a try for a reasonable price. I still can't get over how good she is looking.

Don't know of one around here that will, very expensive to take a pet to the vet here in our rural county.

What about getting help and trying to close it up yourself? Probably could find info on line on how to stitch. She has come so far with your care I'd hate to see this be a problem with her recovery. Why oh why are there not vets with sympathy for problems like this. There is a spay neuter...

I bet that's a hoot trying to change her bandage while she is dodging and bobbing. lol. I think you both are doing a great job, you've taken good care and she is coming back. As far as the crop gosh I'm thinking that should be showing signs of closing but she doesn't appear to be losing ground...

Well that's great seems they both liked the idea then. Sounds good about leakage well just believe then it was her eating too fast, since she is doing okay other wise. Now you know we need a pic of the 2 new friends.

I've seen mine eat too fast and do what you described, so hopefully that was it, especially since she continued to eat and was active after even enjoyed bath time with a friend. When you take the bandage off do you see any sign on the bandage that there is leakage ?

That's good she can see them, and is talking to them, can they see her too, so when she is ready to go back outside she will be accepted back into the flock. Sounds like you have the vitamins taken care of.

I think since the wounds aren't weeping every other day is probably fine for changing. Sounds like she is coming along real well in the healing process. Do you have any poultry vitamins? they would help give her immune system a boost and help in healing. Does she like having more light? I would...

Still think I'd go for the surgical glue if trying that route. Just don't know if there could be something in that crazy glue that may have an adverse affect on her. It shows me what a great job you have done so far with her, with a wound like that she should be long gone.

I like your what your saying and think how your going about it for now is the right way, not to go against what others have said but I just feel in my gut this is right. You've done the research so stick with it. I am with JensChickies on keeping her separate from the chickens, yes give her...

That's great she has visiting hours. Sounds like she will have no trouble getting through this. Now lets just hope that dog doesn't come around again. I'm glad you waited and gave this girl a chance and giving the others a chance to see her will help when it's time to put her back outside too...

Her progress sounds like it is going great. Can you believe you thought about putting her down when it first happened? I know if it happened to one of mine I would have though the same , but they amaze me daily the way they can come back from such horrendous injuries. Thanks for keeping the...

That sounds like she has made progress, does it look like the hole in her neck has begun to heal? or is it about the same size as when you last saw the bubbles? seems it would have to be closing up?. so glad to hear the bandage seems to be holding the hole closed though, sounds like she is...
