    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

I'm waiting for my evening report on the chicks. I know three more were peeping and zipping when DS was leaving this morning but that was my last report. If they all make it that'll be 8-9 I think. I'm losing track dang it. Bluemoon it sounds like your roos are doing their job over there.

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

Morning report from DS is four chicks out and more pipping. DS was able to video the one zipping last night so he is saving it for me. So far it's three Hamburgs and one Buff Orpington. I am glad my clutch was all fertile even if they don't all hatch out. I have a few swaps to do when I get home...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

I only had two days where the temps were dipping that I know of. One was the first day of lockdown which was a 24hr dip to 97-98, and the other was the second day they were in the incubator. I'm not really sure why they are so late, but I am not complaining. I have three thermometers in there...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

My chickes were due late Sat night. My temps must have been dipping or something because the chicks are hatching!!! I have one out and two pipping! Of course they waited until I was on a business trip to hatch - little brats. My DS took some pics and sent them to me and he is getting to enjoy...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

Quote: What kind of bator? I have a styrofoam (LG) and when it drops I wrap towels around it. It helps to keep the temp up. Its an LG. I guess I am confused why the temperature would stay constant for 2 weeks and now decide to drop 4-5 degrees? I went ahead and tweaked the temp up. I hope...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

Ohhh, I am so jealous! I was cool/patient as can be for the last 2.5 weeks but now that lockdown has started I am anxious as can be! Mine aren't due until Saturday evening but I can't help shining the flashlight in the bator several times a day to look for signs of life. "START HATCHING...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

Yes! tomorrow night is my lockdown & I can hardly wait. So exciting!!!!! My DS and I have a fun bet on how many chicks will actually hatch from the first batch of 45. He's betting 36 hatch and I am betting/hoping for at least 35...and that they are all hens. Haha! I should have more than that...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

Just candled the 43 that are left. I tossed two that didn't seem to be developing. Both were in the fridge before I set them so I didn't expect them to develop, but it was worth trying. Of the 43 that are left there are two that don't seem to be as advanced as the rest. I can see mvmt in one but...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

Just got home from our trip and "had" to candle a few eggs to see how they are doing. I'll do all of them tomorrow after a bit of sleep, but the ones I looked at tonight are all growing!!! Tonight is the first time I got to see a bunch of movement in the eggs. It's day 11 and of the 11-12 I...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

Well, my eggs were set last Sat. I candled tonight since we'll be out of town for a few days (thank goodness for automatic turners) due to work. Of the 45 we set there are 5-6 that are questionable. The rest look pretty good! I have several brown eggs in there and they are so hard to candle. I...

    Anybody hatching on Jan 9th?

I have 45 set in the incubator that are due Jan 10th. SS Hamburgs, Buff Orps, EEs, NNs, and a few BRXBuff Orp mixes (no BR rooster). This is my first attempt at incubating eggs but I had tons frm the 33 chickens we have so I figured I'd try it before I bought some to hatch. Ran the bator for a...
