Well folks... none made it... they made it very far...but not to hatch day....poor babies... next time I try i need to have a whole month where I don't go out of town... thank you for the help though!!
Ok I candled... if you saw my earlier posts I had to go out of town when the chicks were on day 12 ... it looks like they got stuck to one side of the egg .
Alrighty today is day 21... I have seen no pipping... which scares me. If none hatch, I say it is due to my time of not turning them for those few days. I'm hoping for at least one of the three to hatch for me. :fl:fl
Alrighty I just got back home and alas... 3 out of the 4 are still going. I just candled and one of the 3 had a slightly saddle shaped air cell. Do you think it will cause problems?
Ok I'll ask her today if she can do it for me... I need at least one little one to hatch. If I use the turner should I pad it since it's for the size of regular chicken eggs?
I'm going out of town tomorrow... I'm on day 11 or 12 :fl... I guess I can put them in the automatic while I am gone... although the hand turning has been way more effecient... what say you?
Alright I just candled... out of 10 we have... 4 quiters... 4 going beautifully strong... and 2 undeveloped... I forgot that I am going out of town this weekend so I have to ask someone to turn the eggs for me... i don't know if I should switch to the automatic for the few days while I am...
Ok this is trial 2... I have 10 eggs from @TJChickens and they are in the incubator and I'm doing a dry hatch and the temperature is stable. Last time I used an automatic turner and now I am hand turning (well a hand turning contraption I created). I'm going to candle on day 10, which is...
So out of the 9 eggs I put into the incubator only one is still going the rest had blood rings or nothing at all... there are 3 other eggs in there that are a few days behind but they are going well too...out of 12 I have 4 right now... I blame these crazy temperatures...
I also received eggs from TJChickens yesterday...9 to be exact. They are in a still air around 100°F with about 40-45% humidity. Let's hope this hatch goes well.
