Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

Her real name is Angel.... But we call her seagull.... I'll send a photo in a minute and you'll see why 😂😂😂 She's about 24 weeks now, turned out to be a bantam.

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

Thats what I’ve been doing! When I tap my finger in the bowl they all come running! Except they peck me and not the food. 😂 They barely eat anything, they are very little. I will try introducing a little swing, perch and some treats in a couple of weeks!

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

Still working on it....I did make a noticeable difference though...they were fat round balls before, and now it’s just a coating on her little nail.

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

I love everything about these chicks but the poop. I’m not too fussed if the poop on my, but if they got it on my clothes or the carpet my mum would lay an egg. For some reason I’m unsure how to handle theses guys, do I just keep gently picking them up a few times a day? I’ve been doing that and...

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

Good news! I put a very shallow tub of warm water, and put her in to soak. She didn’t mind too much. I gently wiped at the poop and breathed on her to keep her warm. She almost fell asleep! We have made a little bit of progress! There’s still plenty on there, but I wanted to put her back under...

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

But how do I do it? She squirms when I hold her. She is ok to sit on my hand for a bit, but will eventually try to fly off. I can’t really hold her and her toe steady, as well as wiping it. Edit: I wiped it, but couldn’t seem to make a dent in it. It’s rock hard...

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

Yep! I’ve been putting my hand in the brooder so they can get used to me. The EEs peck me NON STOP! I’ve been gently picking them up, they don’t freak out, but eventually try to jump back in Thebes brooder. This EE is much more skittish. I want to make them into super friendly lap chickens...I’m...

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

Ok...got some... Also, she hasn’t like a little bit of poop caked around her middle toe...should I try to gently wipe it off? It would be very difficult to keep her still, and it would probably traumatise her....

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

    I’ll try....she doesn’t sit still tho...

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

How big do they get? I was planning on only getting bantams but.....will they be ok with my silkies?

Uhhh....why does my Easter egger have a fifth toe?

So yesterday I got my first batch of chicks! I got 7, 4 different coloured silkies (1 week old), 1 lavender Araucana (1 week), a gold laced EE, and a silver laced. The EE are 2 and a bit weeks old, I was told, and they are much bigger than the other chicks (but I don’t think that’ll cause me a...
