    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

Oh I definitely will if he provides me with the opportunity! I'm lucky I caught it at all, it was the first time I'd ever seen him act like an actual cockerel aside from all the chest-bumping and neck-feather-flaring :D I wonder if he even has any idea of what it was he was doing to Gracie, or...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

*Random Update* AWHHHH, Taichi the tiny Japanese Bantam Wonder Boy did the little wing-dance-side-shuffle to the OEGB girl today! LOL I couldn't help but laugh, he's so tiny and it looked so funny :D Awh, the babbies are all growing up :')

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

*Random Updates* The new big coop is nearly finished, just have to get the metal roof on, do a little painting, add some hardware cloth, and build the run! I bought some grit for the chickies, initially mixed a small amount into their food just to get it into their system without them treating...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

*Update* Just a riff off my original question, the chicks are outside now, at least 8 weeks old, in a secure spot- but they still peep loudly and incessantly when the sun starts setting? I wonder if they're attached to me/my family? While they were stuck inside, we were around them pretty much...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

I've read this as well, I already have plans for if that ever occurs, don't want my little babe getting feathers plucked :). The bantams with her have left her head feathers alone, once they're all integrated with the big chickens I'll have to keep a close eye, for sure.

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

*Update* They're outside, by the big girls coop :p. We basically transformed the giant dog cage into a giant brooder slightly off the ground, with wire on all sides and some wood on the roof+sides for shade and protection from rain. The big girls are very curious about the littles, and...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

*Update* They seem to have finally relaxed a bit without any light/heat source, as long as we cover the huge cage on all sides with towels (to stop light from the kitchen/other places from interrupting their roosting/sleep time) they go to bed without freaking out now! Success! Just in time too...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

UGH, now they started a new thing- the little Japanese dude and the tiny OEGB female just tried to fly to the top of the dog cage, and perch? on the bars?! They have a stick for roosting, they use it all the time! I dunno, they're definitely too old for this setup at this point, around 8 weeks...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

That's fantastic :D sounds like a rooster watchdog(chicken), lol Right now the chicks are peeping their little heads off, and the lights aren't even out yet X________X They've been fine, normal, mostly quiet all day, but as soon as the sun sets, whether lights on in the house or off, they start...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

She honestly should, I've gotten so much good information (and entertainment) here, I've been telling her things I've read over the months; the one thing is, she isn't the best at website/forum navigation, lol

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

I hope someday to have an assortment of all the breeds I want, both full sized and bantams, and Faverolles is definitely on the list ^_^ I think it's hilarious that between the 3 pullets outside and the five chicks inside, we have 7 different breeds total already lol It took me weeks of waiting...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

Yes, definitely worse things in life, I can think of many, haha My mom loves them too of course, I just love them a little bit more, I think! I free range along with them all the time lol Oooo I love the whole Faverolle look, I really like the breeds with beards, muffs, top-knots, crests...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

Yeah, I realized where this new interest was heading months ago thanks to this forum, and so I decided to embrace it rather than fight it X) you only live once! Might as well enjoy it all while it's all here, life is too short to not truly live it :p. Wow, that is a CHUNKY rooster! And very...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

Bwahaha, that's great! And if this the dark side, no worries, I wouldn't wanna go back to the light! Chickens make every single day more fun and interesting, not to mention delicious, so I wouldn't wanna lose this obsession for the world ^_-

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

Good point, us walking around and talking doesn't bother them in the least, but some of the videos my dad watches at full volume are a bit loud, noisy, full of cross-talk and a ton of things happening all at once; I'm probably overthinking it, lol. Yeah they all have their feathers, and they...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

Thanks! Yeah, in the future I'll definitely go for a heating pad, the lamp seems to make this more difficult for no good reason, haha. Ahh that's a good idea! We have a big sliding glass door so we usually don't have the living room light on in the middle of the day, only around 6-7pm or so when...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

I appreciate it! It's always cool to know when you're doing something good and right for yourself, so thank you :) Oh yes I'll stick around, like I said, I've become a bit obsessed with chickens :p

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

The living room unfortunately has excellent acoustics, we were going to try to watch a movie last night, but they just would-not-stop! We gave in, turned off the TV, and let them peep it out until they fell asleep, lol ~ Having the A/C running drowns them out a bit, makes it harder to hear them...

    Very noisy bantam chicks- Help!

Oh no oh no, I HOPE we have the coop and such done before a month goes by, I PRAY we do, because a month of little loudmouth Japanese boy peep-screaming like he's getting eaten is going to turn the whole house batty X'D
