He's definitely favoring left leg, not too bad tho....have had birds get worse sprain/strains from skirmishing, can take a good while to heal up totally.

Those aren't saddle feathers...forget what they're called, can be unwanted in show birds, or needs to be the right color.

Objection! Neither of these is absolutely true. Probable, but not absolute. You must not have done much searching here because many keep bachelor pads full of males.

I feel dogs are a bit different in this scenario than chickens...animal control will probably thing so too...but I get what you're saying. Probably, but if she keeps them and confines them...multiple males could indeed be a problem for a novice.

I would not want stray birds on my property, not sure I'd adopt them even if I wanted to keep chickens(and it sounds like you don't want them for your own). If owner doesn't keep track of them(keep them confined to his property), then they are fair game for someone else to take, IMO.

Call and ask... ...they may not help but may be able to steer you to the right place. What a dilemma...it's a darn shame someone dumped their problem onto you. SMH. If you don't want eggs...or pets...I'd get rid of them somehow. Building a coop and run to keep them safe is not an easy...

    Refugee Chickens

Welcome to BYC! I'm guessing someone dumped them...unless they escaped from the 'not talkin' neighbor's place. Where are you located? Do you want chickens? If not, call local animal control for advise.
