Yep. Focus has changed, kind of reached all my goals from when I started.
Still try for a few replacement layers,
but a bit off of slaughtering due to some physical limitations.
Used a broody in 2020 and bought chicks in 2021.
I did too until I found these long dispensing needles.
Much easier!
Then clipped off the luer lock and shoved needle into the end of the tube on my siphon bottle.
That is one therm that can actually be tested in both ice water and boiling water as the range goes beyond both temps.
Just make sure you check the temp that water boils at your altitude.
Might want to figure out how to start incubation with them upright.
Not sure an egg carton would fit in the Incuview.
I had one once, think I used a bottle cap and or short section of PVC pipe.
:D
I'd go for it.
The 3 are within 0.5°?
The zoo-med is a bit lower?
What's weird is how far off the hygrometers are, but those are easy to test.
'Poor' how...as in detached?
WTHeck is a unicorn chicken?
If you're sure the surface is absolutely flat, I'd want to send the sucker back.
Check the base and the lid to see which one is warped.
The funky 'bubbles' in the lid may indicate and manufacturing/quality assurance flaw.
So do you wait until all chicks in bag have hatched to pull it out and band?
That would be a pain, IMO.
Have you seen this?:

Yes, band management can be tricky!
I used to mess with comparing all my therms to a human medical therm....

until I got this one...https://www.thermoworks.com/RT301WA.....
The tuner is not the cup type, but rails taht slide,
so yes they can migrate towards the outer edges.
Not a big deal to move them every day or two, tho I've never needed to do that.
This is why I tested all my therms against a known accurate(human medical thermometer had the the tightest range and tolerance).

Sounds pretty good to me....food therms are usually good, especially if restaurant has them tested/calibrated. I test against medical thermometer...and now have a high grade food therm https://www.thermoworks.com/RT301WA
My hygro was spot on....and a couple % points off is not a huge thing...
