The "mean" one wants to kill me. She started out loving me as a chick, she loved to cuddle and hang out. But then one day she didn't. When I collect eggs I have to hold her down and at arms length or she will draw blood from my hands and arms.
The "nice" one wants only a few things out of...
My hatchery is Dunlap Hatchery, in Nampa Idaho. www.dunlaphatchery.net
What do I need to watch for in the "mean" one's eyes? I am most likely not going to keep her but will be giving her to a friend. I am only allowed 3 birds where I live and currently I have 5, so a Campine and Silkie...
They both are hatchery stock.
The eggs are not quite as white as I had thought they would be.

I almost gave up, but because there was no crowing I kept calling them girls.
Life has been busy and I forgot to give you all and update:
About mid November I started getting smallish off-white but almost white eggs. I was praising my little White Silkie hens, but they were not who laid them.
Then one afternoon my "Nice" Golden Campine was acting strange, talking...
Since there is no crowing, I think I may just keep them until eggs or crowing happen.
I'd hate to give them away just to find out that if I had just waited a little longer I could have had eggs.
*I did tell them when they were 4 months old that as long as they didn't crow I'd keep them...
Sorry, it took me longer than I thought to remember to take pictures of my "girls."
But here are some updated pictures taken yesterday, they are about 31 weeks old (almost 8 months).
The first picture is the "mean" one. She is all puffed up trying to attack me, notice the dropped wing. I...
The last picture here, my Golden Campine don't have tails like cockerels. They do not have the "full" tail look going on. They are very streamline like the pullets in the foreground.
So both hens, the no eggs could be the daylight changing and it getting a little bit cooler out?
And the one not being nice to me is she is just being a b****?
I'll see if I can get a picture of them today up for a 7 month picture.
~Thank you again.
Interesting. Well mine are a bit past that 28 weeks of age.
So maybe they will be hens?
These two close ups were taken 7 weeks ago (they are about 21 weeks old):
This is the nice one:
This is the NOT nice one:
And this is one taken 10 weeks ago (they are about 18...
I think this is the best place to ask this question. I have read, I think all the posts here, and don't remember reading anything about a question I have on Golden Campine.
I have 2 Golden Campine they are 7 months old. Also I have a Black Star Sex-Link of the same age.
Anyway... I have...
