LOL! His goose is not setting or have babies, but he is particularly protective. In the past he has reached for my boots or stuck his neck out at me, and I don't know how I didn't see it coming, but he got me when I wasn't expecting it! :) I guess I didn't have enough coffee that morning to...

I also use rubbermaid bins, then as they are older, I use kiddie pools, or x-pens in my garage. :)

I would get after him with your cane! I found goosing them in the tail really gets them good! I think that is what they would do to each other.

I think it is pretty common to see sprains and strains during breeding season in geese and ducks. I was worried about mine once and took her to the vet for this. They gave her Metacam, which is a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory and had me keep her in a large kennel but where she could be...

My girls have only been laying for 2 1/2 weeks now and 4 of them are trying to set already! And one of them is a yearling! I use large and xl dog kennels for nest boxes. When they go broody/set, I take the tops off the kennels and herd them off their nests as often as I can. Essentially, I...

Very cute family! I don't think she will lay any more eggs if you let her keep the baby. If you took him away and brooded him, then she may start to lay again. I would also advise, if you leave the baby with them, to handle it every day. I let mine raise babies and the babies were terrified...

Those are not that dirty, but if you want to, you can wash with warm water. If needed, I scrub with a dish scrubby.

Emvickrey, I had a friend that had a pair like the above ones and the babies turned out to be smooth breasted, almost all white with a few gray dots on their backs, with curly back feathers. I think I have a pic somewhere, I will try to find it. I will warn you that if you let the parents...

And if you collected the last weeks eggs and she stops laying, then you can give them back to her!

Finny, I collect for 7 days, then put the eggs from that week in the bator, and do this each week. I have a hatcher, so I can do staggered hatches in my bator. Each week some go in the bator and each week some go from bator to hatcher. Good luck!
