He pretty much leaves when she does. He stays in the pool a little longer but goes back in the nest box to join her. I think he gets lonely easily. I hope he is good with the babies when they hatch.
Thanks "Dude". And all im saying from my experience raising wild breed ducks for 20 years is wild mallards eggs are buff. I made the rookie mistake once of acquiring a rouen and her eggs were green!
Nope they are all buff color. No green. Photo is accurate. Same color as wild mallards ive seen in the wild! Yours might be rouens. Theirs are more green.
They look exactly like my mallards who are 8 weeks old. One has more orange on bill and other dark olive. Today the orange billed one quacked like a hen when i caught her to put her in the outside pen and the olive bill made a low pitched sound not a quack! I believe I have a hen and a drake!
