I
I sure hope someone comes along and gives Apollo a good home. He's everything I would like in a rooster and wish I was in a position to take him!! But, alas, not only do I live all the way in Montana, but I can't have roosters where I'm at He just seems like such a good boy.
I'm very curious about this too! #3 has the best barring, and now that he's made strides size-wise...or will you keep them both to see how they grow out...? :pop
Very excited to see your flock grow! I'm enjoying living vicariously through you :) I live in a city and so am quite limited by the no rooster/6 bird minimum my city has. Someday I want to grow up and be just like you ;) lol Your birds are just gorgeous!
I can vouch for the Cherokee purple's, they are great! They are one of the "ugly" heirlooms though, took me a bit to get used to the cracks, but they taste great and the plants in my experience are one of the easier to grow.
Oh I'm so jealous of your garden! I'm all the way up in Montana, and we are just now starting to tinker with the idea of getting the hardy veggies out in the next week or so. The frost danger takes forever to go away up here :)
I've been a long time lurker, and have so enjoyed getting to know you and your little farm! But it just breaks my heart to hear about Dottie. I know how special she is to you, and wanted to give you my deepest sympathies :hugs
