Julie has some nice Delawares but this thread is about a Bonham recreated strain - I think you would find these would hold up type wise against any - at least that I have seen.
OK sounds right to me - I wasn't sure who made all three styles-
I think the two applied with pliers would be more secure- the leg bands from the NPIP ID are applied with the pliers [ grommet style you refer to ]
Never lost one except in the "plucker" and any would most likely come loose then.
I am not sure if same company or not - The Nationals I am referring to you push thru and then crimp a tab that is inserted in the hole[ same as the NPIP leg bands ]
If you have a problem with eyes just get someone else to apply while you hold chick,
No but here are pics of National band on some day olds - I would think large fowl chick will all be similar as far as bandind- the national tag I think is even a little bigger than the jiffy https://nationalband.com/wing-band-instructions/
Edited to add: Just send them to us - we will tag em
Wait then - I some times do it up to 2 weeks but there is more empty space available in the band with small wings.
Less chance of cutting a tendon on the front edge of the wing. IMHO
Yes it looks big on them at first but they grow into them in no time. Then the problem is finding the band in the...
Ditto's - but I point out I don't know of anyone that has pushed the commercial feed on them and restricted calorie burn.
And we won't know till its tried. Waiting for breed material is the drawback in early cull dates.
There are not any original 50s generation out there to compare to that I am aware of
The weights you quote were commercial house operations feed high protein food with little movement.
You can't compass that to free range birds. The market birds prior to CornishX were not free range .
I am...
Short answer is - not yet .but we are not sure what that was with the old 50s Delaware ?
This study may be interesting to you http://japr.oxfordjournals.org/content/early/2014/10/25/japr.2013-00843.full
And keep in mind two things.
1. The study used hatchery Delaware's to compare with the...
Wife says: Go to Facebook and send him a message on his personal page: Michael Newman is how he's listed on FB. His picture is of a man holding a precious little girl-both are laughing
Don't know anyone in Texas- Micheal Newman is in the Panhandle of FL - he has this line and some of his own.
Usually on the Del club @ Facebook but someone else will need to point you as I don't do Facebook.
For shame ! But that reminds me we were eating at a quaint little country village seafood place that had great food. Not fancy and on a little backwater creek.
Atmosphere was very casual and relaxed setting . Paper plate and cups but great food. In middle of our meal this lady starts raisin "H"...
I would say the taste report was good to excellent - But the cook says "bit" of wine so I presume she drank the rest ?
Sure had a great variety of spices in there.
Glad you enjoyed it.
