1/2 Assel and 1/2 Miner Blue American game and yes he slept on top of the waterer as soon as he could fly
My father has an annoying habit of refering to my chickens by their hackle color... he's a fly fisherman. If you hand him a rooster he immediately wraps one of the hackle or saddle feathers around his finger and inspect it I guess we all love gamefowl for different reasons!
I think it will be a pretty cross and you can't blame the hen... who wouldn't want a nice game rooster, trim, athletic, protective, good dancer, good provider Was it the previous owner who told you he was crossed with leghorn?
This thread is about what we love about games... not topics that will get the thread locked!!! Please keep on track here we need a good game thread that educates and doesn't get locked.
They were originally bred as games and are still technically considered a game breed and I hear that some lines even maintain the character and spirit of games, that and I said OEGB were fine so I can't really say no to sumatra can I?
That's a dangerous request Wayne, but I'll load up photobucket and see if I can't comply...

Ah I love the little family pic, I haven't had my first hen hatch yet this year I do have some fluffies about due in the incubator though so I will survive.
CUDA I should have known you'd make fun of the Polish but your fluffy footed D'Uccles are in the same boat
As for wire and fences... always put sight guards where there is a chance they can see another rooster. Don't forget the roost area! If you have freerange roosters then you need sight...
In my experience it has more to do with your Polish. My theory is that because the Polish look so different and are lacking the obvious comb that would tip the game off to the threat, the game rooster will wait for the Polish to act like a rooster ie try to breed, crow etc. So as long as your...
I've raised games and polish together in the brood pen before and the game roosters treat the Polish roosters like uppity hens a peck here or there rarely a kick but the Polish will back down and act submissive so quickly that they don't register as a threat, maybe not even as a rooster...

It's easy to get all the families of American Games confused I've got the ones I own down but I know there are so many more out there.
