Set eggs today Saturday 2/22 - anyone else?

I went on lockdown last night. Two of my shipped eggs looked like quitters, but I left them since they don't stink. The other nine shipped eggs are still moving and hopefully ready to hatch. All 8 from my backyard flock still show movement. Since my shipped eggs had really bad air cells I am...

I stopped my turner today on day 16 to hope that my shipped eggs with the bad air cells can get into position for hatching. I candled last night and all but one egg was moving and happy. I am amazed at how much I can see by candling. My kids could see feathers last night and are very excited...

Thanks for the info. This is my second hatch so I am pretty new at this. I read the article on assisted hatching and it suggests the chick could be in the wrong position because of the big air cells. I am going to stay close to the incubator for this hatch and hope I don't do something wrong.

I candled tonight on day 9 and this is what the air cells on my shipped bantam eggs look like. The air cells are huge compared to my backyard flock eggs. All the eggs show moving embryos and they are developing. I am keeping humidity between 35-40%. I am worried. What happens when the air...

Set eggs today Saturday 2/22 - anyone else?

All of my shipped eggs had detached air cells. So I read all the posts I could find and most of them said to stop turning the detached air cell eggs on day 16, and leave them upright for lockdown. This is my first time trying this, so I hope it works. I also removed 4 this weekend that were...

I candled everything tonight. 4 clears, 1 unsure and 19 eggs showing development. One week down, 2 more to go. I have a questions, if I quit turning on day 16 for my shipped eggs, will it hurt the rest of my eggs?

I candled my shipped eggs tonight and 11 of the 12 are showing development, but all have terrible air cells. I love this incubator. It keeps the temperature and humidity really steady.

I have never thought about just putting the flashlight on top of the egg while it is in the incubator. This info is definately going to make it harder to leave them alone tonight!

Half of my eggs are a backyard mix from my flock. On my first hatch the chicks that hatched out the fastest and seemed more robust (still) were the green eggs and the brown eggs from my production red hen. So this time those are the only eggs we picked to put in. I also have 4 eggs from a...

I had 5 shipped eggs and 2 of those hatched. I had 16 of my backyard mix and 15 of those hatched. So 17 out of 21. I had two that shrinkwrapped and I did help them and they are just as healthy as the rest now. Are your eggs shipped or local?

I run my humidity between 40 and 45%. At day 18 I attempt to get it up to 60%, but since I live in a really dry area I had difficulty keeping it that high during lockdown on my first hatch. I am going to try and keep these same numbers this time since I am still new at this.

I just set 24 in incubator. 12 were shipped, all had detached air cells. I am crossing my fingers they hatch! The shipped eggs are bantam cochins and the rest are backyard mix chickens. So our due date is March 15th!
