That is so cute how you have pictures of her as she got older! I took pictures of my favorite pullet this year to see how she changed over the months. I wish I had some chickens that chased mice. Mice are eating the corn that I have in my shed. That would be a blessing if they would kill them too.

I was told that once they are done molting and start laying, for the pullets that is, that they don't molt again until next fall. Mine are around 29 weeks old and they were hatched back in February so I thought they would molt again until next fall?

My EE pullet is 8 months and 8 days old and still no eggs! All the rest are laying. I looked at the two bones by the vent and they are still close together. She isn't molting either. I guess I will soon have to put the light in the coop.

Is anyone else getting the chick itch? Lol February is 5 months away, but I just can't wait to hatch some eggs and buy chicks! I think it's because of the cold air outside now it reminds me too much of spring.

I thought it looked like the comb was a bit bigger at that little of an age. Post back again in a couple weeks to get a better idea.

It's looking like a cockerel I think, but too early yet. Sort of looks like mine that turned out to be a beautiful roo. My roo back in march. This picture was taken about a month ago of him.

This one has me stumped. The stance and tail feathers look like a roo, but the comb is smaller, but pretty red. I'd wait and see about 2 weeks and post again.

That is an interesting green egg color! She does look sort of like a black copper maran hen. Maybe that is mixed in her.

Notice how the saddle feathers are a bright orange/red like color? Also the tail feathers droop and the patchy red on the wings? Those are dead giveaways for it being a cockerel.
