I am thinking of selling my Silkied Roo (I think its a roo), He was born last winter out of GoaskAlice's B line and is Splash colored. I also have blue and splash silkied juveniles. Is there anyone in the Northwest looking for stock? He seems pretty healthy, he's currently running with my...
I have some extra chicks available to a project member in the Northwest. They are blue and splash smooth feathered but silkie feather gene carrying chicks. I hatched from Catkai and Nicole a week apart. They are $5 each and are straight-run. I am near Portland, Oregon.

Hatch update:
9 have hatched on their own. Three more that had partially zipped and then seemed glued in were just assisted out and are trying to recover in the incubator. I may candle the rest of the eggs later today and see if there is any movement.
I just candled the 20 eggs from Katcai and the 6 from my lavender ameraucanas: All but 2 of the silkie feathered and 1 of the lavenders are showing veins!
Wow, that's kind of hard on the eyes. Oh well! I'm HAPPY!
I set a very generous dozen eggs from CatKai today (20!) along with 5 eggs from my Lavender Ameraucanas that just started laying. (I'm going to have to hand turn some of them until Thursday which is when I can move some other eggs to the hatcher). I've got another dozen coming in a week or...
It will be the feathers on the wings that will tell you. I don't know if you can tell for sure at hatching. You should know by a week old though. Mine were born sat/sun and haven't grown hard feathers on their wings yet but I'm giving it till Sunday before I start to celebrate. :)
Welcome! I will be at the swap and bringing some interesting chickens, but not these. I just started my project and my breeding stock are still chicks. I will be breeding towards the standard but my main goal is to dilute this bloodline. The breed is currently inbred and I suspect this has...
I just did my eggtopsies. 6 never developed. 1 pipped externally and died. 3 never pipped internally. (and 2 hatched and still no signs of hard feathers)
Here is my new "Pips n Peeps" Rooster. I got him and 2 pretty Blehm/Shaffer hens today. I also ordered a new candler that is supposed to be able to see through dark eggs, no more blind hatches for me! I was just out staring at wings in the brooder. I've got the Ameracauna chicks in with 5...
I'm going to leave my eggs in a a day or two more but am thinking all I'm going to get out of this hatch is the blue and a splash that hatched this morning. I am thinking I better hatch another dozen eggs as some insurance. If anyone reads the other thread and wants to team up, I would love...
