Do you know what the humidity is in your house during the warmer months when the heat isn't on? If it is higher, then it makes sense that might have something to do with it.
How often do you rinse? Perhaps you need to increase the frequency this time of year.
Or, keep a mister there, and zap the...
I rinse for a few minutes in a colander.
They only need to be watered for about about 5 minutes at a time, but depending on how dry the air is where they are, anywhere from 2-4 times per day.
Good idea. You can't beat a high quality chicken food to keep your chickens healthy. Then greens or certain other limited treats make nice supplements.
I also had difficulties, until I only used a very thin layer in the bottom of the container. Perhaps 1-2 seeds deep max.
Soak overnight with a little bleach in the soak water.
Rinse well the next day.
Lay in container that you will use to sprout them, thinly, as mentioned above.

Agreed. A flatter tray, more width than height, will allow more air flow, and you should get better germination. The seeds need to be more spread out; they need air.
Something like this...
Great idea! So you'll soak and set up new seeds every few days so they are at different stages? What size drill bit did you use to drill the holes in the bottom?

Let us know how this works!
I had the same issues. Not everyone does, but it is so frustrating! Here is what finally worked (you've tried some, but do them all): 1. Soak the seeds in water/bleach. 10:1. Overnight. Rinse well 2. Make sure your tray drains REALLY WELL. No standing water. Add holes if needed 3.Flush 2-3x per...
You don't see people talking about sprouting corn. I'm not sure why; maybe the protein content isn't as good as wheat or barley.
My feed store sells wheat that is untreated for feeding to animals. I'd check there first. If not, try online; Ebay, Amazon, etc.
